Shikiso Utsuzawa's 'True Saint' Light Novel Gets 2027 Anime

Shikiso Utsuzawa's light novel series Because I, the True Saint, was Banished, that Country is Done For! is getting a television anime adaptation set to debut in 2027. The project will be directed by Tsukasa Sakurai at Tsumugi Akita Anime Lab.

Masumi Tazawa will voice the lead character Eliane, with Taku Yashiro voicing Nigel. The English manga adaptation, published by Kodansha USA Publishing, continues its rollout—the third volume arrives July 28.

The series' premise hinges on a banished saint and the consequences that follow, a setup that's clearly resonated enough to move from page to screen. With the manga already in English circulation and the anime now officially greenlit, the property is positioned for a wider international reach in 2027.
