Sekiro: No Defeat Anime Expands to 8-Episode Series in 2027

The Sekiro: No Defeat TV anime is coming in January 2027, and it's going to give the story room to breathe. Rather than simply adapting what came before, the eight-episode series will expand on the narrative established by the Sekiro: No Defeat film, introducing new scenes and episodes that deepen the world FromSoftware created.

Studio Qzil.la is handling production, and the team has committed to building the series without generative AI—a deliberate choice that speaks to the care going into this project. Director Kenichi Kutsuna and screenwriter Takuya Satou are steering the creative direction, bringing their own sensibilities to Wolf's journey.

The voice cast carries weight too. Daisuke Namikawa returns as Wolf, the protagonist, while Miyuki Satou voices Kuro, the Divine Heir. The supporting cast includes Kenjiro Tsuda, Jin Urayama, Shizuka Ito, Akimitsu Takase, Takaya Hashi, and Tetsuo Kanao—a lineup that suggests the series is treating its ensemble with the same attention as its leads.
