Netflix Axing Fate/Extra and Yu-Gi-Oh! by Mid-2026

Netflix is clearing shelf space for two anime stalwarts. Both Fate/Extra Last Encore and Yu-Gi-Oh! will vanish from the streaming service's catalog on July 31, 2026, giving subscribers roughly eighteen months to catch up if they haven't already.

The removals mark another rotation in Netflix's anime library, where licensing agreements constantly shuffle titles in and out. German-speaking viewers still have time to experience both series in their preferred format—each is available with German dubbing or Japanese audio paired with German subtitles until the deadline hits.

The card game anime's migration to the House of Mouse suggests the licensing rights have shifted, a common pattern when streaming platforms compete for established franchises. Fate/Extra Last Encore, the spin-off that reimagines the Fate universe through a digital lens, faces no such announced alternative home—at least not yet.
