It's a clean pivot from the source material's heavy lifting, and the production crew assembled suggests someone's taking it seriously. Yosuke Kuroda handles the screenplay, with Tomo Okubo directing. Naomi Nakayama storyboarded, and animation directors Yoshihiko Umakoshi and Hitomi Odashima are on board—a solid lineup that knows how to move characters with intention.

The timing lands in that interesting space where the manga has wrapped but the franchise clearly isn't done mining its cast for stories.
