Mob Psycho 100 Reunites Original Team for 10th Anniversary Short
Mob Psycho 100's original team reunites for a special 10th-anniversary short film.
A decade after Mob Psycho 100 first aired, the series marked the milestone with a new short film that brought the original creative team back together. Presented at an event in Saitama's Fukagawa Mirai Hall, the anniversary short features the core cast—Reigen, Shigeo (Mob), Dimple, and Tome—reuniting for what amounts to a love letter from the people who made the anime what it was.
Director Yuzuru Tachikawa handled the full creative load on this one, writing, storyboarding, and directing alongside serving as technical director. Animation director Yoshimichi Kameda returned to the fold as well, bringing visual continuity to a project that clearly meant enough to everyone involved to pull them back in. Kameda also created a commemorative illustration for the occasion.
The short is available online with English subtitles, making it accessible to the global fanbase that's sustained the series since its July 2016 debut. The anime ran for three seasons, with the final one arriving in October 2022, nearly a decade after ONE's original manga concluded in December 2017.
That the production team would reunite specifically for this anniversary speaks to something beyond obligation. Mob Psycho 100 built its reputation on meticulous direction and animation that treated its protagonist's internal emotional journey with the same care other shows reserve for action sequences. Getting those same hands back on the project suggests this wasn't a quick cash-in, but a genuine celebration of what they'd built together.
