Mercedes and the Waning Moon Gets TV Anime in January 2027

The light novel adaptation Mercedes and the Waning Moon: The Dungeoneering Feats of a Discarded Vampire Aristocrat is heading to television next January, and the production just revealed its first promotional video alongside key cast and crew details.

Anna Nagase will voice the titular Mercedes Grunewald, a vampire aristocrat navigating dungeon adventures in this fantasy series. Kunihisa Sugishima is directing the anime at studio Teddy, bringing Fire head's original light novel to screen for the first time in animated form.

The series has already found an audience through its manga adaptation, and J-Novel Club has been publishing the light novels in English digitally, making the franchise accessible to international readers. With a January 2027 premiere locked in, the anime is poised to introduce the story to viewers who may have missed the source material.
