Lupin III fans with a taste for physical media have reason to celebrate. Five classic soundtracks from the legendary heist anime are being reissued as colorful vinyl editions in Japan, marking a vibrant addition to the series' 55th anniversary festivities.
The reissues span the franchise's most iconic eras. The first three soundtracks from Lupin III: Part 2 will hit shelves on October 21st, 2026, followed by releases for Lupin III: Part 1 and The Castle of Cagliostro on November 25th. Each album will retail for 5,000 Japanese Yen plus tax.
What makes these editions particularly noteworthy is the involvement of composer Yuji Ohno, who shaped the sonic identity of four of the five soundtracks being reissued. His work has been foundational to how generations of fans experience Lupin's globe-trotting escapades, and these vinyl releases serve as a tangible tribute to his contributions.
The decision to reissue these soundtracks on vinyl taps into a broader resurgence of interest in physical formats among collectors and audiophiles. For Lupin III enthusiasts, it's an opportunity to own pieces of the series' musical legacy in a format that emphasizes warmth and tactile engagement—fitting for a franchise built on the thrill of pursuit and the allure of the tangible prize.
