Studio DEEN has dropped a promo video for From Far Away, the upcoming anime adaptation of a 1990s manga, and it comes with the goods: opening theme "Tokoko" by Genin wa Jibun ni Aru and ending theme "Hikari no Gawa de" by Nanashi no Taro.
Director Noriyuki Abe is steering the project, which lands on Japanese TV October 4, 2026. The original manga ran in Hakusensha's LaLa magazine from 1991 to 2002—a solid 11-year serialization that clearly left enough narrative meat for an anime treatment.
The fact that this is getting adapted now, more than two decades after the manga wrapped, suggests either a quiet but persistent fanbase or a publisher betting on nostalgia.
