After a wait that feels almost as long as an elf's lifespan, Frieren: Beyond the Journey's End has officially confirmed its creative team for Season 3, with the announcement arriving at Anime Expo 2026.

Tomoya Kitagawa will direct the new season, keeping the project in capable hands as Madhouse continues its animation duties. The studio has already proven its ability to capture the series' blend of contemplative storytelling and emotional depth across the first two seasons, so continuity here feels like a solid choice.

The voice cast remains intact, with Atsumi Tanezaki, Kana Ichinose, and Chiaki Kobayashi returning alongside Nobuhiko Okamoto, Yoji Ueda, and Hiroki Tochi. Composer Evan Call will handle the score, maintaining the series' atmospheric soundtrack.

Alongside the staff announcement, the production team revealed a fresh illustration featuring Macht, one of the series' characters. The artwork served as a visual reminder that the anime isn't just dormant—it's actively being developed for its October 2027 debut.

For those tracking the behind-the-scenes work, the supporting creative team includes Daiki Harashina, Keiichiro Saito, Tomohiro Suzuki, Takase Maru, and Keisuke Kojima, ensuring the production has the depth of talent needed for a third season.

The manga source material, written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe, has given the anime plenty of narrative ground to cover. With the main staff now locked in and a release window confirmed, fans have a concrete target to anticipate.
