Square Enix has shared a fresh look at Final Fantasy Resonance through a trailer that premiered at the Tokyo Game Show, and it brings with it the game's theme song — a track called "Inside" by WurtS that sets the tone for what's coming.

The game itself is an HD-2D offline RPG built around the first story arc of Final Fantasy Brave Exvius, which means if you've spent time in that mobile world, you'll recognize the narrative foundation here. It's a different kind of experience though — a more traditional, grounded RPG that stands on its own.

When it launches on October 22, Final Fantasy Resonance will be available across a pretty wide range of platforms: Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. You'll be able to play it in either Japanese or English audio, depending on what feels right to you.

Square Enix is also preparing a Collector's Edition for those who want to go deeper, complete with bonus items, and there's a pre-order bonus available as well if you want to jump in early. It's the kind of multi-platform, multi-option rollout that suggests the studio sees real potential in this one — a chance to bring the Brave Exvius story to players who might prefer a single-player, offline experience over the live-service model.

The Tokyo Game Show trailer gives you a sense of the HD-2D aesthetic in motion, which has become such a distinctive visual language for Square Enix in recent years. If you've been curious about what Brave Exvius is all about but never quite took the plunge into the mobile game, this might be the moment to see what drew people in during the first place.
