Thirty years after Neon Genesis Evangelion first aired in 1995, the series is getting a commemorative capsule toy release that does exactly what fans want: puts the show's most quotable lines directly in your pocket.

Good Smile Company is producing six types of keychains, each featuring iconic dialogue and subtitles pulled straight from the anime. Jurokuhoui will handle manufacturing and distribution. The toys drop in August and September 2026.

It's a clean move for a franchise that has spent three decades living rent-free in the heads of anyone who watched a teenage boy get into a giant robot and have an existential crisis about it. The keychains are the kind of merch that rewards people who actually remember what the characters said—which, for Evangelion, means you're either deeply invested or you've rewatched it enough times to have opinions about the ending.
