Cowboy Bebop Director and Silent Hill Composer Head to Comic-Con Málaga
Anime and gaming legends are heading to Comic-Con Málaga this October!
San Diego Comic-Con is bringing its European edition to Málaga next October, and the guest list reads like a who's who of anime and gaming royalty. Shin'ichirō Watanabe, the visionary behind Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, will headline the event on October 3 and 4, giving fans a rare chance to meet the director who defined a generation of anime aesthetics.
But Watanabe won't be alone. Akira Yamaoka, the composer whose unsettling soundscapes made Silent Hill one of gaming's most atmospheric franchises, will be on hand October 1 and 2. Alongside him is Yoshihiro Ueda, director of the legendary Dragon Ball series, also appearing during the opening weekend.
The live-action adaptation front gets its moment too. Iñaki Godoy and Emily Rudd, who star in Netflix's One Piece remake, will appear on October 2, bridging the gap between anime purists and streaming audiences who've embraced the live-action interpretation.
SDCC Málaga runs October 1 to 4, 2026, with tickets available through Ticketmaster. For a convention that's increasingly become a global phenomenon, this lineup signals that European fans are no longer an afterthought—they're a priority.
