Blue Box Ends, Final Issue Sells Out, Author Wants Your Job

The final chapter of Blue Box (known in Japan as Ao no Hako) hit Weekly Shonen Jump, and the series is officially over — but good luck actually finding a copy.

Despite Jump printing additional volumes to meet demand, resellers moved fast enough that the issue sold out. It's the kind of supply crunch that's become routine for hot manga finales, but it's still frustrating for fans who just wanted to read the ending.

Author Kouji Miura, presumably tired and running on fumes after wrapping the series, took the opportunity to humorously ask for job offers on social media. The post landed somewhere between genuine and joking, which is exactly the kind of energy you'd expect from someone who just finished a serialized manga.

The good news for anyone who missed the magazine: the final collected volume arrives December 4, 2026. That gives fans a legitimate way to own the complete story without battling the resale market.

What's more, Blue Box isn't really going anywhere. The anime adaptation is getting a second season in October, so the franchise momentum is far from over. The manga may have concluded, but the anime will keep the story in circulation for viewers who prefer that format or want to revisit it animated.

For manga readers who've been following Miura's work, this marks the end of a significant run — but the December volume release and the incoming anime season mean there's still plenty of Blue Box content on the horizon.
