Tank Chair Anime Drops Trailer, Premieres October 4
Tank Chair anime trailer drops, featuring a sniper in a wheelchair. Premieres Oct 4.
Polygon Pictures just unveiled the premiere trailer for Tank Chair, an anime adaptation launching October 4th on Japanese television. The story pairs siblings Shizuka and Nagi Taira as they navigate assassination jobs—with a crucial twist: Nagi operates as a sniper from a wheelchair, making the premise as unconventional as the title suggests.
The anime comes from manga creator Manabu Yashiro's original work, published by Kodansha. Directors Tadahiro Yoshihira and Hiroaki Ando are co-helming the production, which enlisted two standout musicians for its soundtrack: SiM handles the opening theme "DALALA," while Daoko provides the ending track "SYNC."
The voice cast includes Koki Uchiyama, Minori Fujidera, Gakuto Kajiwara, Saori Hayami, Yurina Amami, and Gen Sato.
What matters here is straightforward: Tank Chair is positioning itself as a high-octane action series built on an atypical dynamic. A sniper in a wheelchair isn't window dressing—it's the operational core. Whether the anime executes that premise with the precision it demands will determine whether this lands as genuinely inventive or merely novelty. The music pairing (SiM's rock energy against Daoko's more atmospheric sensibility) suggests the production is thinking in layers. October 4th will tell.
