Marvel's original Star Wars run is coming back in a big way. The publisher just confirmed that Star Wars: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus Vol. 1 will hit shelves on March 16, 2027, marking a major celebration of the 50-year partnership between Marvel and the franchise.

This isn't a casual reprint. The hardcover collection spans issues #1 through #44 of the legendary 1977 series, the run that defined how comics adapted Star Wars for decades. That's a serious chunk of foundational material — the era when Roy Thomas, Archie Goodwin, Chris Claremont, and Jo Duffy were writing the book, with artists like Michael Golden, Carmine Infantino, Al Williamson, and Walter Simonson bringing it to life.

The omnibus pulls together the stories that introduced some of the most memorable characters to emerge from Marvel's Star Wars era: Jaxxon, Crimson Jack, and Beilert Valance among them. It's the deep cut that longtime fans have been waiting on, and newer readers get a chance to see what Marvel was doing with the property when the films were still reshaping popular culture.

The hardcover is priced at $125 U.S., with an ISBN-10 of 1302972901. This is the first volume, which means there's already a signal that more collections could follow — though Marvel hasn't confirmed additional volumes yet.

For collectors and Star Wars historians, this is the kind of release that fills a gap. The original 1977 series has been out of print in this comprehensive form for years, and getting it all in one place, in premium hardcover format, is the kind of archival move that suggests Marvel is taking its Star Wars legacy seriously heading into the franchise's next phase.
