Marvel's upcoming series, Wonder Man, is set to premiere on Disney+ this December, but recent rumors indicate it will be a self-contained story. While fans have come to expect cameos from popular Marvel characters, insiders suggest that Wonder Man will not feature any surprise appearances, making it a unique addition to the Marvel lineup.

The series is produced by Destin Daniel Cretton and Andrew Guest, with Brad Winderbaum, Marvel's Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, hinting at its distinct flavor. He called it "the best show no one's ever seen," underscoring its unique approach to storytelling and its homage to the film industry, particularly acting.

According to Winderbaum, the show will consist of eight episodes, each varying in runtime. He mentioned that the episodes range from approximately 20 to 40 minutes. The show will star Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, alongside Demetrius Grosse as Eric Williams, aka Grim Reaper, and Sir Ben Kingsley reprising his role as Trevor Slattery.

While rumors swirl about potential cameo appearances from Ed Harris, Bob Odenkirk, and Courteney Cox, only Harris has been confirmed to appear as Simon's agent, Neal Saroyan. Stella Meghie is directing several episodes, with Cretton also taking the helm for the first two.
