New Character Videos Released for Wind Breaker Film

Warner Bros. Japan has recently unveiled a compilation of character videos for the much-anticipated live-action adaptation of Satoru Nii's Wind Breaker manga. This compilation provides a glimpse into various characters, showcasing notable scenes and dialogues, as well as offering fans a taste of the film’s dynamic narrative.

Production Details

The film, directed by Kentarō Hagiwara (known for Blue Period and Tokyo Ghoul), boasts a script written by Yōsuke Masaike, a Japan Academy Prize winner. Wind Breaker is set to hit Japanese theaters on December 5.

In Wind Breaker, we follow Haruka Sakura, a new student at Furin High School—a school notorious for its delinquent culture. Rather than seeking camaraderie, Haruka is determined to fight his way to the top, aiming to prove himself as the strongest among the school's brawlers who defend their town.

Kodansha USA Publishing has also licensed the manga and is releasing it both digitally and in print, with new volumes expected monthly since July 2022. The series has garnered significant attention, appealing to fans of other action-oriented stories about high school delinquents.

Wind Breaker has not only inspired this live-action film but also received an anime adaptation, which premiered in April 2024, with Crunchyroll streaming the series. Additionally, a mobile game based on the manga launched on March 12.
