New Updates for 'Whoever Steals This Book' Film

The highly anticipated anime film, Whoever Steals This Book (Kono Hon o Nusumu Mono wa), has revealed a brand new trailer along with six additional cast members. In an exciting announcement shared on Friday, the film is set to debut on December 26.

Crew and Production Details

The film is directed by Daisei Fukuoka, known for his work on the Radiant series, with a screenplay written by Yasuhiro Nakanishi. Character designs are managed by Keiko Kurosawa, while music composition is led by Michiru Ōshima.

The Storyline

Mifuyu, a high school student, lives in a historic library left by her great-grandfather. When books from the library are mysteriously stolen, an ancient curse is unleashed, thrusting the town into chaos. To resolve this, Mifuyu joins forces with a mysterious girl, Mashiro, embarking on an adventure through various story worlds.

Adaptations and Releases

Kadokawa published the original novel in 2020, which has since inspired a manga adaptation serialized in Young Ace magazine. The manga has been released in English by Yen Press. In addition, a spinoff novel titled Kūsō no Umi (Fantasy Sea) was released in May 2023.
