Exciting New Theme Songs for Watari-kun's Anime Debut on October 3
New songs for 'Watari-kun's ****** Is About to Collapse' debut October 3.
The staff for the anime adaptation of Naru Narumi's Watari-kun's ****** Is About to Collapse has released a new promotional video. This announcement reveals the theme songs for the anime's upcoming second cours, set to premiere on October 3. The opening theme, "Futari-bun" (For Two), will be performed by the band shallm, while the ending theme, "Shippai Shinai Menhera no Sodate-kata" (How to Successfully Raise a Mentally Unstable Person), will be sung by Yurina Hirate.
The anime first aired on Tokyo MX on July 4 and is available for streaming on Crunchyroll, which is also offering an English dub. The cast includes:
- Shūichirō Umeda as Naoto Watari
- Yumika Yano as Satsuki Tachibana
- Yurie Igoma as Yukari Ishihara
- Megu Umezawa as Makina Umezawa
- Yoshiki Nakajima as Shigenobu Tokui
- Hinaki Yano as Suzushiro Watari
Directed by Takashi Naoya at Staple Entertainment, the series features assistant direction by Matsuo Asami, script supervision by Tatsuya Takahashi, and character designs from Shōko Yasuda among other talented individuals.
Kodansha USA Publishing offers the manga digitally, telling the story of Naoto Watari, who faces personal struggles after the death of his parents and his complicated relationship with his sister, further complicated by the return of a childhood friend. The manga was serialized in Kadokawa's Young Ace since August 2014 and concluded in September 2023.
