The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are about to enter an exciting new chapter with a fresh storyline set to launch this December, featuring new characters and a new creative team. Eisner Award-winning writer Gene Luen Yang will take the helm for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #13, succeeding Jason Aaron, while Freddie E. Williams II joins as the principal artist. This issue will include a variety of stunning variant covers by notable artists, including franchise co-creator Kevin Eastman.

The storyline begins with the Turtles celebrated as heroes in a transformed New York City, but the peace won't last long. The mutant yak, Papa Beng, and other villains are unaware that they are being stalked by a formidable new assassin—Ujigami.

In addition to this new arc, the TMNT franchise has several other projects underway. Earlier this year, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder launched, putting Shredder amidst various criminal and supernatural threats. Furthermore, a limited series titled Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Casey Jones will follow the adventures of the Turtles' ally following a previous confrontation with NYC's District Attorney.

IDW Publishing is also set to release Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in October, which will adapt scenes from the animated film and Nickelodeon's television series.
