Bandai Namco Entertainment has released an English trailer for the upcoming game, Towa and the Guardians of the Sacred Tree, developed by Brownies. This 2D isometric roguelite game is set to launch on September 19 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, and PC via Steam, with a playable demo currently available.
The game is set in the serene Shinju village, which faces a dire threat from the evil Magatsu, who seeks to conquer the land. Players will take on the role of Towa, the village priestess, who teams up with eight unique companions to defy Magatsu and his forces. Players can select two Guardians for each quest: one wielding the sacred sword Tsurugi and another using the magical staff Kagura.
Each Guardian features distinctive abilities that can be enhanced within dungeons and through meta-progression in the hub world of Shinju Village. Players can gather crafting materials to forge and upgrade their weapons, resulting in varied combat styles and unique Guardian pairings. As players navigate different timelines, they will build bonds with the village's residents, uncovering their rich stories and customs. The ultimate goal is to overcome dungeons and defeat Magatsu's minions to restore harmony to the land.
The soundtrack is composed by Hitoshi Sakimoto, promising an immersive audio experience.
