Tom Ellis Auditioned for Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four

Tom Ellis, well-known for his role in Lucifer, recently disclosed that he auditioned for the role of Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four: First Steps. This revelation came during an interview with Square Mile, adding him to a list of other noted actors considered for the role, including Matt Smith, Adam Driver, and Dev Patel.

Ellis expressed his excitement about the character, stating:

"There was a select group of people that got asked to tape for Reed Richards. I had been waiting for the right thing, timing-wise and character-wise, to come along. And I remember looking at the photo of Richards in the comics and going, 'This could be the one.' We look quite similar."

After submitting his audition tape, Ellis found out that Pedro Pascal, known for his performances in The Mandalorian and The Last of Us, secured the part of Reed Richards. "I mean to be fair, he's not in much," Ellis joked, appreciating Pascal's role while looking forward to the film's trailer.

When asked about missing out on such a high-profile project, Ellis reflected on the excitement and dreams associated with acting. "We live for the what if-ness of it," he remarked, emphasizing the passion that drives performers.

Pascal's portrayal of Reed Richards has received praise from both fans and critics alike. Sharing his own thoughts on stepping into the iconic character, he remarked on the challenges and rewards of taking on such roles within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is currently available on multiple formats, including Digital, 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD. A Disney+ release date is expected to be announced soon.
