Toei Animation has announced the establishment of a new production base in Osaka, aimed at expanding its animation work and recruiting talented artists from the Kansai region. This move comes in response to a growing labor shortage within the animation industry and signifies Toei's commitment to fostering local creative talent. By leveraging recent advancements in networking and digital technology, the Osaka Studio aims to create an environment that supports flexible working styles and creative collaboration.

Kiichirō Yamada, Toei Animation's managing board director and head of production, emphasized the urgency of recruiting creators from across Japan and the necessity of opening studios beyond their established Oizumi Studio in Tokyo. Initially, the Osaka Studio will focus on background art, with long-term plans to develop capabilities comparable to those at the Oizumi Studio. This initiative not only strengthens Toei's production capacity but also aims to enhance community ties and support high-quality animation works.
