The highly anticipated second season of the anime adaptation of Yūsei Matsui's The Elusive Samurai will premiere in July 2026, as revealed during the Jump Festa '26 event. This news follows the recent announcement that the first season will re-air on Fuji TV's Noitamina programming block in April 2026.

Alongside the debut announcement, a teaser visual and video have been unveiled to generate excitement among fans. The first season of The Elusive Samurai originally premiered in July 2024, and it has been popular enough to warrant this continuation.

Series Background

The anime's first season was successfully streamed by Crunchyroll, complete with an English dub. It was directed by Yuta Yamazaki at CloverWorks, with character designs by Yasushi Nishiya. The opening theme, “Plan A,” was performed by DISH// while the ending theme, “Kamakura STYLE,” was by Botchi Boromaru.

The story revolves around Tokiyuki, who escapes the massacre of his family orchestrated by the traitor Ashikaga Takauji, aided by loyal retainers including the clairvoyant Suwa Yorishige, who predicts Tokiyuki's future as Japan's ruler. The manga, launched in January 2021 in Weekly Shonen Jump, continues to serialize and has gained recognition, winning at the 69th Shogakukan Manga Awards in 2024.
