Bandai Namco Entertainment has begun streaming the opening movies for Tales of Xillia Remastered, an upgraded version of the original game from 2011. The opening videos feature the song "Progress" by Ayumi Hamasaki.

The remastered edition is set to launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam on October 31, 2025 (October 30 in Japan). It will also be available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in Japan.

This remaster introduces various quality-of-life improvements including an auto-save feature and early access to the Grade Shop. Gamers can also enjoy downloadable content from the original game, such as special costumes and bonus items. The combat system utilizes the Dual Raid Linear Motion Battle System for real-time battles.

The plot follows the journeys of Milla Maxwell, a mysterious woman accompanied by powerful spirits, and Jude Mathis, an aspiring medical student. Their paths intersect as they uncover a secret about the kingdom of Rashugal, which wields a weapon that drains mana and threatens their world. Milla and Jude undertake a quest to stop the looming devastation and restore balance in their land.

Tales of Xillia Remastered marks the 30th anniversary of the franchise, while the original game celebrated its 15th. The original Tales of Xillia launched for PlayStation 3 in Japan in September 2011 and came to the West in August 2013. Its sequel, Tales of Xillia 2, was released in November 2012 in Japan and in the West in August 2014.
