Milly Alcock, star of the upcoming Supergirl film, has revealed a surprising cameo from Superman in the newest DC Studios release. This exciting detail emerged as director Craig Gillespie confirmed that the entire story takes place in outer space.

Trailer Release and Major Spoiler

The first trailer for Supergirl was unveiled recently, and Alcock shared this major spoiler with GamesRadar+. According to her, David Corenswet's Superman will make an appearance in the film, engaging in a scene that is exclusively in Kryptonian.

Alcock reflected on the challenging filming of this scene, stating:

"Oh my god, it was...it was with Superman. And I wasn't in the suit, and I was speaking a different language. A different language. Yeah, that day was really hard, it was, like, 2 degrees." She added that the whole scene took place in Kryptonian.

A Unique Outer Space Setting

With the new insights from director Gillespie and DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn, it's clear that the story of Supergirl will venture beyond Earth. Gillespie elaborated, "The whole movie takes place in outer space. It's a very different world to start with. And so right there we're creating a whole new set piece."

Gunn reinforced this idea, describing it as a groundbreaking concept for the DC film universe: "The outer space setting is a big part of it, because it is a space fantasy." He remarked that Supergirl is not just a female clone of Superman, but rather a distinctive story featuring a character deserving of this treatment.

Cast and Release Date

Supergirl, the latest addition to DC Studios, is set to hit theaters worldwide on June 26, 2026. Milly Alcock stars as Supergirl/Kara Zor-El, joined by a talented cast including Matthias Schoenaerts, Eve Ridley, David Krumholtz, Emily Beecham, and Jason Momoa. The film explores Kara Zor-El's journey as she reluctantly teams up with an unlikely partner to face an unexpected adversary in an epic, interstellar quest for justice.
