Summer Pockets TV Anime Shares 8th Promo Video and Cast Updates

The official website for the adaptation of Visual Arts/Key’s Summer Pockets visual novel has just released its eighth promotional video ahead of the airing of the anime's 23rd episode, titled "Nanami." The announcement came alongside a new visual featuring characters Nanami and Shiroha. Notably, Kana Hanazawa is set to voice Nanami.

The Summer Pockets anime first premiered on Tokyo MX and BS11 on April 7, followed by broadcasts on MBS and Shizuoka Broadcasting System on April 8, and AT-X on April 10. It later aired on TV Setouchi starting April 11. Viewers in North America can catch episodes via Crunchyroll, which streams the series concurrently with its Japanese release.

A compilation film related to Summer Pockets debuted in Japanese theaters on August 15. The original game launched on PC in June 2018, followed by a Nintendo Switch version in June 2019. An updated version, Summer Pockets REFLECTION BLUE, was released for PC in June 2020 and has since made its way to mobile, Switch, and PlayStation 4 platforms.

With the narrative set in a nostalgic rural district on an island, the game centers around a memorable summer filled with exploration and character interactions. The original concept is credited to Jun Maeda, known for titles like Clannad and Angel Beats!

Illustrations and character designs were provided by a talented team including Na-Ga and Tsubasu Izumi, among others. The scenario writing involved contributions from notable writers such as Yū Niijima and KAI, with music composed by Maeda and others.

In addition to the television adaptation, a manga version titled Summer Pockets -Natsu no Takaramono- began serialization on Shueisha’s Tonari no Young Jump website on May 30. A spinoff titled Summer Pockets Mugyu Days has also launched, showcasing further adventures in this beloved universe.
