Star Wars: Starfighter Reveals Plot Insights and Gosling's Role
New details emerge about Star Wars: Starfighter featuring Ryan Gosling.
A recent leak sheds light on the upcoming film Star Wars: Starfighter, which takes place about five years after The Rise of Skywalker. Following the defeat of Emperor Palpatine and The First Order, this period will explore the galaxy's new dynamics.
Details shared by John Rocha from The Hot Mic, revealed that the film aims to satisfy fans eager for more Jedi action. The central character is Force-sensitive while portrayed by a well-known cast member, Amy Adams, apparently playing a Jedi. Interestingly, Ryan Gosling's character is not a Jedi but plays a significant role by helping his nephew evade dangerous foes across the stars.
With Rey Skywalker's mission to reinvent the Jedi Order, the Force may once again be present in brave Jedi Knights. This expectation aligns with the theory suggesting that Gosling's character is tasked with delivering his nephew to Rey’s upcoming Jedi Academy.
Star Wars: Starfighter has been described as an all-new standalone adventure, marking a fresh narrative in a previously unexplored era of the franchise. The movie stars a talented cast, including Flynn Gray, Matt Smith, and Mia Goth, led by Shawn Levy as director. Production for the film started this year, with Levy expressing excitement over creating an original story within the Star Wars universe.
Although not part of the slate announced at Star Wars Celebration 2023, Star Wars: Starfighter is part of a broader plan for the franchise, alongside projects centering around Rey and the Mando-verse.
Star Wars: Starfighter is currently set for theatrical release on May 28, 2027.
