Shinya Murata and artist Tokisada Hayami’s Blattodea is officially entering its final stage, as revealed in the September issue of Square Enix's Gangan Joker magazine. Since its debut in January 2020, the manga has captivated readers with its dark narrative and striking artwork, emerging as a sequel to Murata's earlier work, Arachnid, which ran from 2009 to 2016.

The story follows Alice, a young girl struggling under her abusive uncle and coping with a mental disorder that causes her to fixate intensely on particular subjects. After witnessing her uncle's assassination by a figure named Kumo, Alice finds herself in Kumo's household, where she begins her transformation under the guidance of an assassin.

Published by Square Enix, Blattodea’s seventh compiled volume hit shelves in November 2024, maintaining momentum as it heads toward its conclusion. Murata and Hayami are no strangers to collaboration, having previously worked together on the manga Caterpillar and Chōbu no Shinobi. Murata's earlier work, Killing Bites, also inspired a 12-episode television anime, showcasing his versatility and appeal within the manga industry.

As the narrative draws closer to its climax, fans are eager to see how Alice's journey will resolve under Murata and Hayami's skilled storytelling and artistry.
