Scott Snyder has recently shared insights into his plans for the Absolute Batman comic series, revealing that he envisions a total of 35 to 40 issues. This statement came during a fan Q&A that Snyder hosted in his newsletter.
What’s Next for Absolute Batman?
The next issue, Absolute Batman #14, is set for release on November 26 and will conclude the current Abomination arc. This issue promises a climactic showdown featuring Absolute Bane against both Absolute Batman and Catwoman.
Here’s a look at some of the arcs that have been outlined so far:
- The Zoo #1 - #6 (Focus on Absolute Black Mask)
- Absolute Zero #7 - #8 (Featuring Absolute Mr. Freeze)
- Abomination #9-14 (The current arc focusing on Absolute Bane)
- Joker Special #15 (Introducing Absolute Joker)
- WW Crossover #16
- Scarecrow Mini Arc #17-#18 (Highlighting Absolute Scarecrow)

Future Directions in the Series
Snyder has hinted at more surprises ahead, including a dedicated Harley Quinn issue set to release in the spring, which aims to delve deeper into her character. Additionally, following the Bane arc, the focus will shift to the Absolute Joker, who is reimagined as a wealthy and traditional figure rather than a mere antagonist.
Commercial Success
Since its debut in late 2024, Absolute Batman has been a significant success for DC Comics, with its first issue selling nearly 400,000 copies. This remarkable sales figure solidifies its status as the highest-selling comic of 2024, maintaining strong interest among readers through subsequent issue releases.
The success of the Absolute Batman series has sparked the creation of a new Absolute imprint from DC, reportedly leading to alternate storylines for iconic heroes such as Wonder Woman, Superman, and more.
