San Diego Comic-Con Prohibits AI-Generated Art

San Diego Comic-Con International has updated its regulations for the upcoming art show, explicitly banning any material created by Artificial Intelligence (AI), either partially or entirely. This decision follows feedback from the artistic community, particularly a critical post by artist Karla Ortiz.

New Rules Enforced

Under the new rules, AI-generated artworks will not be permitted in the art show. The Art Show Coordinator will be the sole authority in determining what is acceptable. The previous guidelines allowed art containing AI-generated elements but did not permit these works to be sold at the event.

Event Details

The art show is scheduled to take place from July 23-26 at the San Diego Convention Center. Held at the Manchester Grant Hyatt, it is open to the public without requiring a badge for attendance.

This year's convention will follow last year's dates of July 24-27, continuing its rich tradition of celebrating art and creativity.
