In an amazing announcement following the finale of the fourth season’s twelfth episode of the romantic comedy anime Rent-a-Girlfriend (Kanojo, Okarishimasu), it has been confirmed that the series will be receiving a fifth season. The announcement was made via the show's official social media accounts and website, revealing that the new season is scheduled to premiere in 2026. To accompany the exciting news, a special illustration was created by Kanna Hirayama, who is responsible for the character designs of the anime.
Fans of Rent-a-Girlfriend should note that the fourth season premiered on July 4 of this year and is currently airing in Japan. Synopsis:
Kazuya Kinoshita, a college student heartbroken from a recent breakup, attempts to fill the void by renting a girlfriend through a mobile app. Initially, Chizuru Mizuhara seems like the perfect match, boasting both beauty and a charming personality. However, after a negative review from Kazuya, Chizuru reveals her true, feisty character, leading to an unexpected relationship that they have to maintain as a facade to please Kazuya’s grandmother.
