The news of Nagamine's death was shared on November 13 by composer Kohei Tanaka and producer Osamu Suzuki via their official social media accounts. A memorial event was recently held at Toei Animation Studio in Tokyo, where former colleagues shared their cherished memories of working with him.

Kohei Tanaka remarked on Nagamine's vital role in One Piece, praising his remarkable achievements and recalling their engaging meetings. He expressed a profound longing to hear Nagamine's energetic storytelling one last time.

Contributions to One Piece and Beyond

Tatsuya Nagamine notably directed over 230 episodes of One Piece, particularly during the impactful Wano Country arc. His work extended to feature films such as One Piece Z and several other specials.

Screenwriter Hiroshi Yamaguchi who collaborated with him on Dragon Ball Super, fondly remembered Nagamine as a source of reassurance during moments of uncertainty, expressing his disappointment over not being able to work with him again.

Osamu Suzuki recounted his experience working alongside Nagamine on the screenplay for One Piece Film Z, describing him as a detailed-oriented person who infused his life and soul into his projects.
