Nintendo Announces Pokémon Pokopia Release Date

Nintendo has officially confirmed that Pokémon Pokopia, an eagerly anticipated game for the Nintendo Switch 2, will release on March 5, 2026. This announcement came unexpectedly, following Nintendo's characteristic approach to game reveal timelines.

A New Gameplay Experience

First unveiled during Nintendo's big September Direct presentation, Pokopia blends beloved Pokémon with gameplay components reminiscent of Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, and Dragon Quest Builders. Players will recruit and befriend various Pokémon species, enabling them to customize their environment, cultivate crops, and construct homes suitable for both humans and Pokémon alike.

Unique Character Control

Players will control a human-form Ditto, granting the ability to adopt traits from different Pokémon. For example, befriending a Bulbasaur allows players to grow plants, while teaming up with a Squirtle assists in watering them. Terrain manipulation can be achieved through learning from Hitmonchan, and construction skills can be developed by working alongside Timburr.
