Everything You Need to Know About Pokémon Legends: Z-A

The Pokémon Company and Nintendo, along with developer Game Freak, have unveiled a six-minute overview trailer for Pokémon Legends: Z-A. In this new installment, players can start their journey by choosing between Chikorita, Tepig, or Totodile as their first partner Pokémon and dive into the vibrant world of Lumiose City.

As players traverse the city and surrounding wild zones, they'll encounter a variety of Pokémon roaming freely. The game introduces real-time battles, allowing trainers to catch, battle, and even Mega Evolve Pokémon, marking a significant departure from traditional turn-based mechanics found in previous titles. Players can link up with friends locally or engage in online battles through a Nintendo Switch Online membership, facing off in exhilarating free-for-all contests involving up to three other trainers.

In addition to battling, players can customize their experience by making their home at Hotel Z and getting to know its mysterious owner, AZ. There are plenty of activities to enjoy, including shopping at trendy boutiques for new outfits and hairstyles, or relaxing in cafés with Pokémon. Scenery abounds with picturesque spots like the iconic Prism Tower at the heart of the city.

The game features a rich cast of characters, including potential friends like Urbain and Taunie, as well as interactions with Jett, the CEO of Quasartico Inc.. Completing tasks for residents can earn players various rewards, enhancing their gaming experience.

Pokémon Legends: Z-A is slated for release on October 16 for both Switch and Switch 2.
