Pokémon: Horizons Unveils New Cast for Exciting Arc

The staff behind the Pokémon: Horizons anime have announced new cast members and theme songs for its latest arc, titled "Rising Again." Eve performs the new opening theme, "Iolite," while Polkadot Stingray provides the ending theme, "Netemo Sametemo" (Whether Asleep or Awake).

Key cast members include:

  • Seiran Kobayashi as Lacey (Taro)
  • Hiroyuki Yoshino as Drayton (Kakitsubata)
  • Shinya Ōwada as Cyrano (Cyano in Japanese)

Lacey and Drayton are new members of the BB League's Elite Four, while Cyrano serves as the director of Blueberry Academy, an institution introduced in the Pokémon Scarlet/Violet games.

This new arc will premiere on October 31, taking the characters to Blueberry Academy. The anime originally aired in Japan starting in April 2023 with a special one-hour episode. Currently, it broadcasts on Fridays at 6:55 p.m. JST.

The series recently began its second arc, "Terapagos no Kagayaki" (The Brilliance of Terapagos), and the third arc, "Terastal Debut," is set to launch in April 2024. The anime follows dual protagonists Liko and Roy, featuring popular Pokémon such as Sprigatito, Fuecoco, and Quaxly, alongside the Legendary Pokémon Rayquaza in its shiny form.

The anime's U.S. debut on Netflix has been rescheduled, and it now offers additional series content.

Pokémon Legends Z-A is anticipated to launch for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16.
