Awaited Trailer Released for Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise
The official website for Peleliu: Guernica of Paradise has unveiled a new trailer along with a captivating visual on Thursday. The trailer features the film's theme song titled "Kiseki no Yō na Koto" (Something Like a Miracle) by Mone Kamishiraishi.
Key Information
The film is set to premiere in Japan on December 5. Key cast members include Rihito Itagaki as kind-hearted manga artist Hiroshi Tamaru and Tomoya Nakamura as his loyal sidekick, Keisuke Yoshiki.
Creative Team
Directed by Gorō Kuji (known for Chained Soldier), the screenplay is co-written by Junji Nishimura (scriptwriter for A Lull in the Sea and True Tears) and original manga creator Kazuyoshi Takeda. The film is produced by Shinei Animation and Fugaku, and will be distributed by Toei.

Background of the Manga
Originally launched in Young Animal in 2016, the Peleliu manga, co-created with historian Masao Hiratsuka, concludes its main storyline in April 2021 after an impressive run of 11 volumes. The story centers on the Battle of Peleliu during World War II, exploring themes of camaraderie and the struggles of soldiers.
Spinoff Series
A spinoff titled Peleliu Gaiden debuted in March 2022, with plans to wrap up in the fourth volume around July 2025.
