Now That We Draw manga gets an exciting anime adaptation.
Exciting Announcement for Fans
A new romantic comedy is set to make its television debut. An official website has launched to announce that the manga Kakunaru Ue wa (Now That We Draw), created by Kyuu Takahata and illustrated by Yuuji Kaba, will receive an anime adaptation. This announcement revealed a first promotional video, teaser visual, and confirmed the main cast.
Main Voice Cast
The leading characters will be voiced by two well-known actors:
- Sayumi Suzushiro (Nijika Ijichi in Bocchi the Rock!, Kei Shirogane in Kaguya-sama: Love is War) as Niina Miyamoto.
- Ayumu Murase (Shoyo Hinata in Haikyuu!!, Venti in Genshin Impact) as Yuuki Uehara.
Production Team
Animation will be handled by ROLL2, with Infinite overseeing general production. The technical team includes:
- Director: Shunsuke Ishikawa (Blue Lock: Episode Nagi).
- Series Composition and Script: Deko Akao (Komi Can't Communicate, Witch Watch).
- Character Design: Hiromi Nakagawa (Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence).
About the Manga
The manga began serialization in Young Animal magazine by Hakusensha in February 2023. The storyline follows Yuuki Uehara, a student aspiring to be a mangaka whose romantic story gets rejected for lacking realistic romance. Desperate, he crosses paths with Niina Miyamoto, a popular classmate who also draws manga and seeks experience. They decide to start a fake relationship for reference in their works, leading to a series of comedic situations.
