Koei Tecmo has unveiled a captivating story trailer for Ninja Gaiden 4, featuring a gritty narrative set in a near-future Tokyo fraught with ancient curses and cybernetic foes.

During the Gamescom 2025 Opening Night Live event, Koei Tecmo showcased a new story trailer for Ninja Gaiden 4, developed in collaboration with Platinum Games and Team Ninja. The game is set to launch on October 21 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation 5, and PC via Steam.

The narrative unfolds as an ancient enemy resurfaces, unleashing a relentless miasma over Tokyo, where the fate of the city hinges on the young ninja prodigy, Yakumo. Players will navigate through the challenges posed by cybernetic ninja soldiers and supernatural creatures, while Yakumo grapples with a destiny intertwined with the legendary Ryu Hayabusa. For those who pre-order, a special Dark Dragon Descendant Yakumo Skin will be available upon release. This latest installment follows the announcement of Ninja Gaiden 4 in January, and includes a remastered version of the acclaimed Ninja Gaiden II game.
