New Trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu

A fresh trailer for The Mandalorian and Grogu has made its way online, previously showcased only at Star Wars Celebration. This exciting preview is currently playing in theaters alongside Disney Animation's Zootopia 2.

After a long seven-year hiatus from theaters, Star Wars is set to make a grand return with The Mandalorian and Grogu, scheduled for release on May 22, 2026.

The initial trailer received a mixed reception, with some critics suggesting it appeared too similar to a television series. However, it's essential to remember that The Mandalorian has always maintained a cinematic quality.

Enhanced Trailer Features

The newest trailer includes additional scenes from both Star Wars Celebration Japan and D23. Highlights feature:

  • Action-packed sequences
  • More appearances of Zeb Orrelios
  • A thrilling scene of Grogu destroying a Mouse Droid

This sneak peek flows seamlessly and conveys a grander scale for the film. Contrary to some speculation, this movie is not merely a compressed version of the delayed Season 4, which was put on hold as Disney pivots the franchise to film.

Filmmaker Jon Favreau stated, "We were planning on doing a fourth season. I had actually written all of that." He added, "It’s structured around a movie structure, as opposed to a serialized weekly television show, so there’s a larger throw to the whole thing."

Film Synopsis

Set in a time after the fall of the Empire, The Mandalorian and Grogu follows bounty hunter Din Djarin and his young apprentice Grogu as they navigate a galaxy still teeming with imperial warlords. They are enlisted by the New Republic to safeguard the legacy of the Rebellion.

Directed by Jon Favreau, the film also reunites him with producers Kathleen Kennedy, Dave Filoni, and Ian Bryce. The musical score will be provided by Ludwig Göransson, who has previously worked on the Disney+ series.

Prepare for an epic journey as The Mandalorian and Grogu embarks on their most thrilling mission yet, filmed in IMAX. Don't miss the new trailer embedded below!
