New Rilakkuma Anime Set to Debut in April 2026

Aniplex revealed exciting details regarding the upcoming anime adaptation of San-X's beloved Rilakkuma character, including the show's short anime format, main staff, and its scheduled debut in April 2026. A teaser visual and character designs were unveiled, showcasing the main cast: the laid-back Rilakkuma, the playful Korilakkuma, the diligent Kiiroitori, and the sweet Chairoi Koguma.

Directing the series are Yoshimi Itazu, known for "The Concierge," and Yumi Kamakura, with character design by Chiyo Morita. The music will be composed by Kōta Yokoseki, Yoshiya Ikeda, and Mizuki Kanno, and the theme song, "stay with me," will be performed by Lilas Ikuta, the vocalist from the popular group YOASOBI.

The new series builds on the legacy ofRilakkuma, a character created by Aki Kondo and launched in 2003, which gained popularity through previous adaptations. Netflix debuted its series "Rilakkuma and Kaoru" in 2019, followed by the stop-motion "Rilakkuma's Theme Park Adventure" in 2022. This upcoming installment promises to enchant fans old and new with its delightful characters and creative storytelling.
