New Developments in 'Kaya-chan Isn't Scary'
The upcoming anime adaptation of Yuritaro's manga, 'Kaya-chan Isn't Scary' (Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai), is gearing up for its premiere on January 11. The latest promotional video has unveiled additional cast, staff, and theme song artists.
Theme Song Information
The promo highlights the opening theme, "Maboroshi no Yukue" (The Phantom's Destination) performed by Isekaijoucho, and the ending theme, "Playmour feat. Kaya-chan", voiced by Azusa Tachibana and produced by artists SAKED and TAO.

Newly confirmed cast members include:
- Toshiyuki Morikawa as Kaya-Papa (Shizuo Satō)
- Mamiko Noto as Kaya-Mama (Mirai Satō)
- Haruka Tomatsu as Nana Ebisumori
- Yoshiko Sakakibara as Mutsu Ebisumori

Premiere Details
The anime is set to air on TV Tokyo and its affiliates at 5:30 p.m. JST and will also be available on AT-X at 9:00 p.m. JST. Additionally, audiences on WOWOW can catch it starting January 13.

Directing this adaptation is Hiroshi Ikehata from East Fish Studio, with script supervision by Shigeru Murakoshi. Character designs will be handled by Tarō Yamada and Hiroyuki Moriguchi, while music will be composed by Kohta Yamamoto and Shun Narita.
Manga Information
The source manga, which portrays the adventures of a kindergarten girl with a unique ability to see and vanquish evil spirits, has captured the interest of audiences since its debut on Shinchosha's Kurage Bunch in April 2022. Seven Seas Entertainment has licensed the series and is releasing it in English, with volume one published on April 29.
