The highly anticipated television anime adaptation of Makoto Kudo's manga, My Awkward Senpai, is set to premiere on October 2, 2025. The show will air on the Tokyo MX channel at 10:00 p.m. JST (9:00 a.m. EDT) and on BS NTV at 11:00 p.m. JST. For streaming enthusiasts, the anime will be available on U-NEXT and Anime Hōdai at 10:30 p.m. JST on the same day, with AT-X showcasing it the following day. Other streaming platforms will start offering the series from October 6.

The cast includes:

  • Lynn as Azusa Kannawa
  • Shōgo Sakata as Yū Kamegawa
  • Ami Maeshima as Miho Hotta
  • Mitsuki Saiga as Ritsu Kankaiji

Directed by Ayumu Kotake at Studio Elle, the anime features series scripts by Mio Inoue, character design by Kenrō Tokuda, and music composed by Kōji Fujimoto. The show's opening theme, "Bukiyō na I love you" (The Awkward I love you), will be performed by angela, while Ami Maeshima will provide the ending theme "Bukiyō ni Kimi no Tonari" (Awkwardly Next to You).

The story centers around Azusa Kannawa, an awkward senpai, who navigates her feelings for her cute and nerdy kouhai, Yū Kamegawa. Since its initial posting in 2019, the manga has captured the hearts of fans and is published digitally in English by Comikey and Square Enix's Manga UP! service.
