During the New York Comic Con 2025 panel for the upcoming Mortal Kombat II, screenwriter Jeremy Slater revealed that he is currently writing the script for the third movie. Slater stated, "Our friends at New Line and Warner Bros. are so happy with this movie... they’ve already hired me to start writing the next installment."
