Two Virgins has announced the upcoming release of Angel's Egg: The Visual Collection, an art book linked to the 4K remaster of the classic 1985 anime Angel's Egg (Tenshi no Tamago). This book will showcase short poems and epigrams crafted by Mamoru Oshii, printed in both Japanese and English. Each of the 100 poems will correspond with one of the selected stills from the film, emphasizing its iconic visual style.

The book is designed to match the movie's original aspect ratio, making it a unique and oblong format. Each page dedicated to selected stills will be richly colored and bound using polyurethane reactive materials. A standard softcover edition is priced at 3,960 yen (approximately $27). Additionally, a limited signed hardcover edition will be available, with details about pricing and availability yet to be announced.

The 4K remaster is set for its Japanese theatrical debut at Dolby Cinemas on November 14, followed by a wider release nationwide from November 21. The film premiered at the 78th Cannes International Film Festival on May 20, and it will have screenings at various festivals, including the New York Film Festival and Beyond Fest in Los Angeles.

In North America, GKIDS will also screen the remaster starting on November 19, with plans for home video release as well. The remaster utilizes a new scan of the original 35mm film negative, ensuring the classic's stunning imagery is beautifully restored. This marks a significant moment for fans, as the original Angel's Egg has not officially been released in the West in its original form for many years.
