Director Makoto Shinkai has recently confirmed that he is working on a new project, exciting anime fans across the globe. During a video message shared by Crunchyroll India, he expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming endeavor.

Shinkai, known for hits like Your Name and Suzume no Tojimari, mentioned his hopes to visit India once the project is completed and premieres. His previous film, Suzume, premiered in Japan in November 2022 and achieved tremendous success, grossing over $221 million worldwide during its theatrical run.

• The announcement was made during a video aimed at promoting the Hindi dubs of eight of his films that are now available on Crunchyroll in India.
• While the video refers to the project as a "new film," Shinkai clarified that it is a "new work."
