Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS Updates

The staff for the Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha franchise announced additional cast members, character details, and the artist for the ending theme song for the upcoming anime, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS Gun Blaze Vengeance, which commemorates the franchise's 20th anniversary.

New Cast Members

Yuna Ogata returns as Nanoha's Raising Heart device, while Akinari Sato takes on the role of Fate's Bardiche device. Yukana voices Rein Yagami, Hayate’s daughter. The ending theme will be performed by Hina Aoki and is titled Ephemeral.

Story Overview

In this new installment, 30 years after an unknown invasive alien species threatened humanity, the story follows a slightly older Nanoha, now 13, who works as an investigator for EXCEEDS, the United Nations' agency for hazardous biological threats. Fate is also involved as an executive officer in EXCEEDS. The narrative explores humanity's fragile existence in a world that remains on edge amid a persistent threat.

Production Team

The anime is directed by Takayuki Hamana, who previously worked on Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection and Detonation. Issei Aragaki serves as character designer and chief animation director, while Shūichi Kawakami is credited for the original character designs. Nana Mizuki contributes the opening theme song, CRIMSON BULLET, which she also wrote.

Premiere Date

The series is set to premiere this July, building anticipation among long-time fans of the franchise.

In addition to this new anime, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha EXCEEDS will also have a manga adaptation launching on Kodansha's Suiyōbi no Sirius service in April 2025.
