Introduction

Kodansha House made a vibrant return to New York City, inviting manga enthusiasts to enjoy a casual and engaging experience. Despite changing venues, the spirit of the event remained inviting and lively, with the added excitement of new showcases.

This year, attendees enjoyed a collection of popular titles including:

  • Fire Force by Atsushi Ohkubo
  • BLUE LOCK by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and Yūsuke Nomura
  • Attack on Titan by Hajime Isayama
  • Ghost in the Shell by Shirow Masamune

  • A Sign of Affection by Suu Morishita

Large murals and eye-catching panels highlighted these beloved series, alongside a delightful snack bar themed around the titles.

Interactive Experience

One noticeable enhancement this year was the increase in interactivity. Although the classic Akira bike display was absent, the Attack on Titan miniature city return offered fans a chance to pose as the Colossal Titan. New experiences included:

  • A Ghost in the Shell interactive scene, allowing visitors to experience a famous action moment from the franchise in first-person perspective.
  • A BLUE LOCK display that featured an immersive photo opportunity, complete with a soccer ball and a character backdrop.
  • Unique stylized tachikoma figures that displayed versatility in design.

Additional Activities

Attendees also explored a retro-themed basement with arcade games, a drink bar, and neon décor, creating an inviting social space. While the event excelled in bringing creators closer to fans, there's a desire for continued expansion of activities.

Overall, Kodansha House was a memorable event that resonated with the manga community, underscoring the unique charm of celebrating manga in one of the world's busiest cities. Fans hope for its return next year with even more content and experiences.
