New Details on Kindergarten WARS Anime from Jump Festa '26

The Jump Festa '26 event held on Saturday unveiled a teaser visual and the main production staff for the much-anticipated television anime adaptation of Yū Chiba's Kindergarten WARS (Yōchien Wars) manga.

Production Team

• Director: Shinsuke Gomi, known for his work on Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Secrets of the Silent Witch
• Character Design: Junko Yamanaka, who has worked on Kamisama Kiss and Servamp

In addition to character visuals for main characters Rita and Doug, a voiced comic video was also presented during the event.

• Rita: Voiced by Atsumi Tanezaki
• Doug: Voiced by Kentarō Kumagai

The Kindergarten WARS manga is available digitally on Shueisha's MANGA Plus website, while Yen Press released the physical version's first volume in April 2025. The intriguing plot revolves around Rita, also referred to as Convict 999, a formidable ex-assassin now dedicated to safeguarding the children of world leaders from potential threats. Despite her overwhelming power, she has a soft spot for attractive men.

Since its launch in September 2022, the manga has gained popularity, boasting over 1.7 million copies in circulation, and will see its 16th compiled volume published on January 5. Recently, the manga entered its final arc, heightening excitement among fans.

Furthermore, a spinoff titled Kindergarten WARS -LUKE- featuring the character Luke debuted in November 2024, enriching the universe created by Chiba.
