The One Piece franchise has officially revealed that recognized voice actor Kenjiro Tsuda will voice Figarland Shamrock, the twin brother of Shanks and commander of the Knights of Gods. This announcement was made alongside a new promotional video celebrating the upcoming release of the manga's 113th volume.

The promotional video, shared through the series' official X account, introduces Shamrock, who boldly proclaims, “That pirate is my long-lost twin brother.” He goes on to hint at a gathering of the Elbaf warriors under the command of the World Government.

Tsuda's Previous Roles in One Piece

This marks Tsuda's third involvement with the One Piece universe. He has previously lent his voice to Yonji, the fourth son of the Vinsmoke family, and Gordon, the former king of the Elegia Kingdom and foster parent of Uta from One Piece Film Red. Interestingly, Shuichi Ikeda, who voices Shanks, was the voice actor for Shamrock’s first appearance in episode 887, although the revelation of Shamrock being Shanks’ brother occurred later.

Future of One Piece Anime

The Elbaf arc, where Shamrock is set to play a significant role, will kick off in April 2026, following the conclusion of the current Egghead arc, which wraps up in December 2025. Following the end of the Egghead arc, the anime will undergo a three-month production hiatus from January to March 2026. Starting in 2026, One Piece will transition to a two split-cour format, allowing up to 26 episodes a year instead of weekly releases. The Elbaf arc will be the first story to adopt this new structure, a change aimed at enhancing the show’s overall quality according to Toei Animation. The goal of this production change is to incorporate more content, improvement in pacing, and a better rhythm that aligns with the manga.
